The challenge

The Cocoa Horizons Foundation was established in 2015 by Barry Callebaut with the mission to improve cocoa farmer livelihoods through the promotion of sustainable and entrepreneurial farming practices, and to strengthen systems in cocoa communities ensuring that nature and children are protected.

Through its annual and half-year reports, the program gathers valuable insights and field stories. 

The challenge for Fuss? To transform complex narratives into clear, consistent content strategy that remains relevant throughout the year to a broad network of stakeholders and partners.

 

Our approach

1. From report to content pillars
We always start from a clear strategic foundation, translating insights from the reports into three key content pillars, directly linked to the mission of Cocoa Horizons:

  • Prospering Farmers: focus on income, productivity and resilience
  • Empowered Communities: human rights protection, social impact and strong local networks
  • Thriving Nature: forest protection, deforestation free,  climate and nature

These pillars form the common thread running through all our communications and ensure consistency, focus and recognisable storytelling.

2. Strategic Annual Planning & Storytelling
By linking current themes and programme updates to these pillars, we create a strategic annual plan. This ensures not only consistency in content but also a continuous flow of impact stories that maintain a balance between social, economic and environmental themes.

3. Campaign-driven Activation
In addition to ongoing content, we roll out specific campaigns around key moments such as the Human Rights campaigns, partner announcements and Cocoa Horizons Week. In doing so, we place a strong emphasis on:

  • Collaboration posts: active coordination and co-creation with partners to increase reach and credibility.
  • Multichannel rollout: an overarching narrative that is consistently translated into visuals, copy and timing across all channels.

Results & Optimisation
